Indie folk and classic rock performed with a laid-back thoughtful air is the signature sound of young acoustic singer/songwriter Sam Fletcher. Influenced by the acoustic greats of the 60’s and 70’s, and the folk songs of old, Sam’s music is mnemonic with that of James Taylor and John Martyn

Sam has been writing songs since the age of 12 and has been performing from even earlier than that. Watching his father, who is also a performing musician, inspired Sam and his brother to take up the guitar and teach themselves how to play.

While Sam’s musical talents range across a selection of instruments, his solo music features skillful acoustic guitar and smooth vocals. There is an old soul feeling to Sam’s performance style that shows this young artist has a maturity beyond his years, yet his fresh youthful optimism shines through with a magnetising energy.

Sam has played a number of small festivals and support gigs over the last few years. He is ready to bring his music to a wider audience after gaining media attention for a climate change awareness tune, ‘Now or Never’, which he was asked to compose by a local environmentalist co-op. Sam is passionate about the environment and protecting the planet. His love of nature often inspires his writing process, and this compassion lends itself to Sam’s honest and raw songwriting capacity.

Sam is also the frontman to four piece rock band Kumera Patch, with his brother Galen and long time friends Kobi Briggs and Brody Blackman. These guys have made a splash in their local area pumping out youthful original surf rock, influenced by artists like The Rolling Stones and Jimmy Hendrix.

Sam is currently in the process of writing and recording his debut EP and preparing for his first interstate tour which will be announced later this year. With his dedication to music and an ambition to make a difference this up and coming artist is already making an impact.
